Aurora

Aurora Aksnes is a Norwegian Singer and Songwriter. Born in Stavanger on June 15th, 1996. She is professionally referred to as Aurora. Her name can be spelled in the form of AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves by Decca Records was released on May 15th of 2015 it received a raving review from music blogs and the press. Half the World Away from Oasis was released by the group Oasis was recorded for an ad campaign for John Lewis, and Nature Boy is the Nat King Cole cover. Katy Perry posted a video in which she endorsed Runaway. It earned her some attention. It was her birthday celebration. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was discovering a piano in her loft, and becoming intrigued by its sounds. The parents of her May-Britt family along with Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to take up music not as a career or hobby but for growth. Thus, she began writing her own songs. She acknowledges Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen, along with Bjork as being her influences. Her mom encouraged her to play her music in front of the public, but not so that she could be famous, but in order to show others the importance of their work and what they can do for the world. She began playing the piano as her primary instrument when she was six, and she started writing music when she turned nine. Family members didn't even know about this until she was fourteen. Aurora did not have a set goal. As she says, she likes to write songs. She claims that music is her favorite way of feeling anything.
